Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Women and Children (IJWC) upholds academic integrity and does not tolerate any form of plagiarism. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, copying parts or entire works of others without proper attribution, improper citation, duplicate publication (self-plagiarism), and citation manipulation.

All manuscripts submitted to IJWC are screened using plagiarism detection software prior to the peer review process.

Similarity Threshold

  • Maximum allowable similarity index: ≤ 20%
  • Similarity from a single source must not exceed 5%
  • Direct quotations must be properly quoted and clearly cited

Manuscripts exceeding these limits will be:

  • Returned to the authors for revision, or
  • Rejected if significant plagiarism is identified

Handling of Plagiarism Misconduct

If plagiarism is identified prior to publication, the manuscript will be rejected.
If plagiarism is detected after publication, IJWC may take actions including:

  • Retraction of the published article
  • Formal notification to the author(s) and their affiliated institution(s)
  • Temporary or permanent submission bans
